Hyprescon is the exclusive manufacturer and supplier of precast Hy-Span structures in Ontario. The table illustrates available dimensions of Hy-Spans units. Larger dimensions of span and rise are available upon request. All Hy-Span structures are designed in accordance to the OHBDC-91 and are fabricated to OPSS material and construction specifications.


A Hy-Span unit is designed as a three member rigid frame with hinged supports at the basis of the legs. Thus, the entire structural unit is subjected to bending moments where the deck experiences moments that are smaller in magnitude compared to a conventional structure. Therefore, the slab thickness of Hy-Span structures can be reduced, permitting a smaller, more efficient structural element. The application of a rigid frame structure also means that no additional lateral restraints are required.
